Lane Seratt races into first Tulsa Shootout
Finley, Tennessee’s Lane Seratt closed out his year competing in the 41st annual Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy Drink at the Tulsa (Okla.) Expo Center’s SageNet Center.
With the marquee event shattering records—drawing more than 2,000 entries across five days of competition and 433 races—Seratt made an immediate impression. Entered in both the A-Class and Restricted A-Class divisions, he opened the week in strong fashion on Tuesday night, leading wire-to-wire in his A-Class heat race to score the victory.
Seratt’s Restricted A-Class campaign began Wednesday, where he positioned himself well in the points standings by advancing four positions to finish third.
As the calendar turned to the New Year on Thursday, Seratt continued to build momentum. A second-place finish in his Restricted A-Class qualifier earned him a spot in his first-ever Tulsa Shootout A-Main on Saturday night. An 11th-place result in his A-Class qualifier, however, forced him to battle through the consolation races on Saturday.
Seratt came up just short of transferring with a fourth-place finish in the A-Class B-Main, shifting his focus to the Restricted A-Class feature later that evening. Nearly cracking the top 10, he capped off the weekend with a steady 11th-place finish in the 30-lap finale.
