Lane Seratt takes on Tulsa Shootout
Kicking off the 2025 season on New Year’s Day, Lane Seratt joined over 1000 entries at the Tulsa Expo Center this past week for the 40th annual Smiley’s Racing Product Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy Drink.
Entering two of his J&P Machine Repair Micros into battle on Wednesday for the week-long event, Lane paced the opening seven circuits of his Restricted heat, but a collision on the final lap brought his run to a sudden halt. A sixth-place finish in his Winged A-Class heat shifted his focus to Thursday.
In Thursday’s Winged A-Class consolation race, Seratt’s promising position at the pole quickly turned to misfortune. On the opening lap, he was squeezed by another competitor, sending his car flipping upside down and abruptly ending his week in the A-Class.
Lane's quest for his first Golden Driller saw a strong performance on Friday, as he surged from eighth to second in his C-Feature. However, his hopes were dashed on Saturday afternoon when he finished eighth in the B-Feature, ending his run for the coveted trophy.
